Projet Montréal activists have been shrouded in mystery since the announcement of the departure of Mayor Valérie Plante at the end of her mandate.

The latter, still shocked by the announcement of Mme Plante, who has led the party since 2016, gathered in congress on Saturday to discuss the main orientations of their political formation one year before the municipal election.
They now have the difficult task of choosing a candidate who will carry their ideas for the next municipal elections, which will take place in a year.
The task already promises to be difficult, according to members interviewed by TVA Nouvelles.

“Really, I couldn’t tell you that,” whispered an activist when she was questioned about potential candidacies. Maybe something will emerge this weekend, but for now, no, no idea.”
Luc Rabouin, whose name is widely rumored to take the helm of Projet Montréal, indicates that he “does not close the door [à cette possibilité]like many of his colleagues.

“We have our boss who is leaving. We ask ourselves the question of whether we want to do that? Is this a challenge that interests us? Do we think we can do the job? And it also has a lot of implications in our personal lives. So, we are going to ask ourselves all these questions over the coming weeks,” confided the mayor of the Plateau-Mont-Royal borough.
