« Politicians can be fierce with anything that contradicts or thwarts their project,” This is what magistrate Badio Camara, president of the Constitutional Council, declared. He was speaking in France on the occasion of “Nuit du Droit”, a platform for exchanges between professionals.
Asked about the 2024 presidential election in Senegal, the magistrate confided that the former head of state had sought their opinion on the possible possibility of running for a third term. But that the Constitutional Council had marked its opposition to Macky Sall.
The President of the Constitutional Council recognizes that there has been a lot of pressure. “There was a lot of tension and pressure, this is normal since it is a presidential election, the stakes are very high and politicians can be fierce with anything that can contradict or thwart their project,” he said.
