The 15-year-old boy was found Thursday evening seriously injured following gunshots reported on the terrace of a burger restaurant, in the Couronneries district. He was hospitalized as an absolute emergency.
The teenager, seriously injured by a gunshot to the head during the shooting that occurred Thursday evening in Poitiers, died this Saturday, November 2 at midday, the Poitiers prosecutor, Cyril Lacombe, announced to the press. The 15-year-old boy was found by the police following gunshots reported on the terrace of a burger restaurant, in the Couronneries district.
Hospitalized in a state of absolute emergency, his vital prognosis was in jeopardy. Four other people were injured in this shooting which occurred in a priority area marked by drug trafficking. Two other teenagers were shot and treated by emergency services, one aged 16 in a shoulder, the other aged 15 in an ankle. They were taken care of by emergency services. Two other victims aged 16, with more minor injuries to the scalp and one foot, presented themselves directly to the hospital. One of these four victims was released from the hospital this Saturday morning, we learned Le Figaro from a source close to the case.
Eleven sockets “which would have been fired by a semi-automatic weapon of type 22 long rifle” were found near the restaurant, according to the prosecution. According to the Poitiers public prosecutor, the teenagers were all born in 2008 and 2009.
Manhunt for shooter
Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau said Friday that the shooting was followed by a “brawl between rival gangs which involved several hundred people” came to the scene, the prefect of Vienne Jean-Marie Girier then specifying that not all of them had participated in the fight. According to the police and the prosecutor's office, the scuffles only involved “50 to 60 people”dispersed using three tear gas grenades. Reinforcements from the gendarmerie intervened and calm was restored around 11:30 p.m.
