Death of two fawns in the Payerne park: the public called to order

“The City of Payerne deplores the behavior of certain people who caused the death of two fawns this week. We remind you that it is strictly forbidden to throw objects and leave waste and food in the doe park.” The town of Northern Vaud launched a rant on Facebook on Friday, after the death of two animals in the park so dear to its population. According to a spokesperson, a throwing of objects cost the life of the first fawn and the ingestion of plastic waste killed the second, reports “24heure”.

As the Vaudois daily recalls, a young doe was stoned to death in 2020, and vandals entered the park and drowned rabbits in the water trough in 2015. After the events that occurred in recent days, the municipal manager in charge of the file, Monique Picinali, intends to raise the fence. Compliance with the veterinary standards of the enclosure and the investments linked to it were recently called into question by a municipal councilor. The municipality declared that it had recently received the results: “The audit says that the park is in order.”
