After the floods, the hardest thing now for many families is waiting for news from their loved ones. The authorities announced this Thursday, October 31, 2024 that several dozen people have not yet been found.

Helicoptered at the end of a cable into the arms of a rescuer, a one-year-old baby is taken out of danger. The more hours pass, the fewer the chances of finding survivors. The Spanish authorities are this evening unable to estimate the exact number of missing people. In parking lots still under water or among piles of debris, rescuers are looking everywhere for signs of life.

Little by little, the Spaniards discovered the extent of the catastrophe. 150 roads cut, 80 towns affected and entire sections of the landscape disrupted.
Official emergency services or public services are sometimes overwhelmed by the situation. The thousands of victims then rely on residents who escaped the bad weather. In the streets, many people are helping to restore some order. In the Valencia region, the material and human losses are inestimable.
