The leader of the Republic of Values movement, Thierno Alassane Sall, reacted following the arrest yesterday, Saturday, of the leader of the Geum sa bopp movement, Bougane Guèye Dani, for refusing to comply when he wanted to surrender in Bakel to inquire about the situation of the populations following the flooding caused by the flooding of the Senegal River.

“There are right-thinking people who find it premature to denounce the summons of citizens guilty of expressing their opinions in forms entirely appropriate in the Republic. Others who consider it normal for magistrates to be sanctioned by a political power out of simple petty revenge. Or that the CESE or the HCCT are illegally blocked by the President in the same “maa tey” spirit,” he adds.
For TAS, “If the gratuitous violence exercised on Bougane Gueye and the unworthy pretext in the Republic which served as a detonator do not trigger unanimous condemnation, then it is because indignation is always selective in this country. Except that the camps have changed and the roles have been reversed. »

Should we recall that yesterday the Gendarmerie published a press release to give its version of the facts following Bougane’s arrest. Circumstances: the person concerned, coming from SEMME, was going to BAKEL. Arriving at the BONDJI Gendarmerie post, his procession made up of 13 vehicles was stopped by the gendarmes. They notified him that he had to make a temporary stop, for security reasons, in order to let the convoy of His Excellency the President of the Republic pass. Then, he could continue his journey after the departure of the authority, we read in a note made public.
Mr. Bougane GUEYE Dany categorically refused to comply with the instructions of the Gendarmes. He decided to pass the roadblock in force, inviting the rest of the procession to follow him, the note adds.

Thus, the commander of the BAKEL gendarmerie company called in a platoon from the Surveillance and Intervention Squadron (ESI) as reinforcement, to intercept the convoy at the TOURIME bridge, a village located 12 km from BONDJI, on the road to BAKEL, explains the Gendarmerie.
The unit commander had Mr. Bougane GUEYE Dany arrested for refusing to comply. He was immediately taken to the territorially competent judicial police officer, at the BAKEL gendarmerie brigade. The public prosecutor at the Tambacounda High Court has been informed.
