Austrian right-wing extremist Martin Sellner arrived in Switzerland on Saturday despite an entry ban. The Thurgau cantonal police arrested him in Kreuzlingen (TG).

Martin Sellner crossed the Swiss border near Constance (D) and was immediately taken away by the Thurgau cantonal police, according to a video broadcast live by the activist. Thurgau police confirmed to the Keystone ATS agency the arrest of a 35-year-old man for further investigation.

Martin Sellner is the former leader of the Identity Movement in Austria. In his conferences, he advocates “remigration”, or the forced return of people of foreign origin established in a country in which their families have settled. German authorities banned him from entering Germany.

He was due to give a lecture on Saturday evening in the canton of Zurich. On October 11, the federal police banned him from entering Switzerland until October 27.
