Police officers from the Sûreté du Québec carried out a search of a residence on rue des Geais in Sept-Îles, late in the afternoon this Friday. They seized three firearms, several ammunition, more than 40 grams of cocaine, $15,000 in Canadian money, three cell phones and a laptop.
A vehicle was seized as criminal property. A 30-year-old man was arrested and could face charges related to possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and possession of prohibited weapons. He appeared today at the Sept-Îles courthouse.
Police officers from the MRC Sept-Rivières station and investigators from the major crimes investigation division of the Sûreté du Québec led the operation. The Sûreté du Québec dog handler also participated.
