Old sea serpent transport projects in south-west , the project LGV -Toulouse continues to create a stir. It still unleashes passions 30 years after the first announcements.

“A harmful and dangerous project”, says the mayor of Bordeaux

However, there is no consensus on the project, like the A69 motorway project near Toulouse…

In recent days, Pierre Hurmicthe environmentalist mayor of Bordeaux, described it as a “harmful and dangerous project for our country”, speaking to our colleagues at BFM .

” It’s a harmful and dangerous project for our country. We are trying to pass it by force. In 2015, during the public inquiry, of the 14,000 opinions expressed by participants, 93% were unfavorable to the project. The commission of inquiry even issued an unfavorable opinion. This is a project rejected by the population. » A project nevertheless… supported by the president (PS) of Bordeaux Métropole, Christine Bost.

“Unsurprisingly, the environmentalist mayor of Bordeaux persists in his opposition to the project and expresses his support for opponents of the High Speed Line between – Bordeaux and Toulouse. Yet a project favored by 78% of French people !

He looks back on the commitment made to Toulouse residents more than 25 years ago, when the Paris – Bordeaux LGV was in the works. And then how can he say that this project is not supported by local elected officials when 25 communities have committed to financing it?

Jean-Luc Moudenc
Mayor of Toulouse, president of Toulouse Métropole

“Pierre Hurmic prefers a wall of trucks between Bordeaux and Spain…”

The chief magistrate of the Pink City continues: “The inhabitants of the Toulouse metropolis paid for Bordeaux to have its LGV. This attitude reflects a deep contempt for all residents and rail users of the Landes, Basque Country, Béarn as well as the Midi of Toulouse and Agenais. Pierre Hurmic prefers a truck wall between Bordeaux and Spain rather than increasing rail capacity for modal shift. Amazing ! »

“A rearguard fight”

A cold anger that the mayor of Toulouse reexpressed, Thursday October 17, in the council of the Metropolis, describing the position of the mayor of Bordeaux as “rearguard combat” :
