Subnautica 2 was presented during the last Xbox Partner Preview conference. Transporting players to the waters of a new planet, this new game should offer an experience capable of satisfying longtime fans, but also newcomers.

Xbox took advantage of its latest conference to highlight games developed by third-party studios. Among other things, we were able to see a promising Chinese souls-like, the first multiplayer game from Remedy, a title dedicated to cycling and spirits… but also and above all Subnautica 2the direct sequel to the first eponymous title as well as its stand-alone called Below Zero.
Still headed by Unknown Worlds Entertainment and Krafton, Subnautica 2 is scheduled to be released next year in early access, just like its predecessor. The studio explained that it wanted to develop the game “alongside our fans and our players”. In addition, we learn that Subnautica 2 will be available day one in Game Pass.

Our goal has always been to provide early access to as many members of our community as possible, in order to grow the game alongside our fans and players. That’s why we’re also proud to announce that Subnautica 2 will be available with Game Pass on day one.
Mouth-watering new features
With Subnautica 2, Unknown Worlds does not seem to want to reinvent the wheel, but rather to perfect an experience already proven over the years. Subnautica 2 is more beautiful than ever and will allow players to travel the seas of planet 4546B. Fans of the first opus will therefore be able to discover new environments, as well as new sea creatures and above all, new mysteries, as the short CGI trailer revealed by the studio suggests.
In addition, Subnautica 2 must also introduce a major new feature for the license: cooperation. Requested by players for years, cooperative mode has never been implemented in Subnautica. This time, Unknown Worlds intends to satisfy its community by offering them the opportunity to meet up to four players. Note that this multiplayer mode will be available upon release of the game in early access. See you by next year on PC and Xbox Series.
