The body was discovered late Thursday afternoon. An investigation is open to determine the cause of death.

A 74-year-old cyclist was found unconscious on Chemin AF de la Marugleire in Bussigny, at the intersection with Chemin des Esserts. Despite first aid provided by ambulance personnel, the victim died on the spot.

It was Thursday October 17 shortly after 5:00 p.m. that the Centrale Vaudoise Police was informed that a cyclist was lying on the road. On site, the police noticed that the cyclist had fallen for an undetermined reason. The victim lived in the area.

Criminal investigation

The public prosecutor was informed and the duty prosecutor opened a criminal investigation. He entrusted the investigations to gendarmerie specialists in order to determine the exact causes and circumstances of this event.

This event required the intervention of a TCS ambulance, the SMUR of the SPSL and five patrols from the West Lausanne Police and the gendarmerie (some in mixed patrols) as well as the scientific police brigade of the security police.
