JUSTICE – General outrage. Alsatian elected officials denounced this Monday, October 14 “a most disgusting scene” after the filing, by Action française, of a “stele” to “immigration deaths” at the national necropolis of Mulhouse, in Haut-Rhin.

On social networks, the local branch of this movement posted photos on Sunday showing two commemorative plaques, attached to wooden pallets and bearing the inscription “To the children of who died from immigration”installed on the ground within the grounds of this cemetery from the First and Second World Wars.

On the steles surrounded by candles, hundreds of names are written as you can see above. “For Philippine who would have been 20 years old this week and all the children in France who died from immigration (…). We invite our Alsatian compatriots to go there to commemorate the countless French lives decimated for lack of political courage”wrote Action Française on X.

Local elected officials denounce

“Once again Action Française has come to sully common memory and carry out a most repugnant staging in the heart of Mulhouse”denounced in a press release the left-wing municipal opposition group “Mulhouse Common Cause”inviting the town hall to file a complaint.

“It is high time to build the necessary barriers against the rise of racism and far-right ideas in our city and in our country”they emphasize.

In a press release published on “desecration of monuments built in memory of the dead”.

He denounced the filing of this “false supposedly memorial stele”and recalled that some of the soldiers who rest in this necropolis came from Moroccan divisions or the Army of Africa.
