Representatives of the CGEM and the French MEDEF meet for lunch

Representatives of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) and the Mouvement des Entreprises de (MEDEF) recently met for a strategic lunch.

Mehdi Tazi, vice-president of the CGEM and his French counterpart, Fabrice Le Saché, discussed strengthening partnerships in key areas such as energy, agriculture, infrastructure and rail, through co-location projects and co-investments, aimed at boosting value chains and creating industrial sectors.

With more than 2.7 billion euros in FDI in 2023 and nearly 1,000 subsidiaries established, France is positioned as the leading foreign investor in Morocco. In return, Moroccan investments in France have tripled since 2015 to reach 1.8 billion euros.

This strengthened cooperation could also promote the export of Moroccan products to France, while supporting French companies through acquisitions and strategic mergers.

Beyond the numbers, this meeting highlighted the importance of conviviality and trust between the two nations. The lunch helped pave the way for new business opportunities, strengthening the alignment of the two countries on shared economic ambitions.
