As noted Weather Cities this calm, linked to the presence of an anticyclone in France, could continue until Monday evening. However, uncertainty remains, with certain models (British and German, in particular) predicting the arrival of some rainy spells in France. Disturbances which would usher in a week marked by rain.

A streak of rain between Wednesday and Friday

As shown in the image below, which is taken from the European model forecasts, France should indeed experience, during the week of October 14, a fairly significant positive precipitation anomaly. In other words: it should rain more than usual next week.

“France will once again be in a low-pressure corridor with potentially heavy rain”confirms Weather Cities.

In its latest forecast bulletin for dangerous phenomena, Météo France indicates that it is mainly “ Wednesday to Friday » that rainy periods are expected. These will be able to “give significant accumulations”confirms the forecasting institute.

This potential sequence is particularly visible in the animation below, constructed with data from the European model.

Is the south-east of France particularly affected?

“Particularly exposed areas” to this precipitation “will be clarified in the coming days”explains Météo France. As the deadline is still far away, it is indeed difficult to know precisely where this precipitation, which is always very volatile, will fall.

Nevertheless, Weather Cities et The Weather Channel imply that the south-east of the country could be particularly affected, and mention in particular the risk of a Mediterranean episode occurring. The northern half could also be affected by these rains, but to a lesser extent.
