Quebec fires the CEO of the CISSS de la Côte-

The Legault government announced the dismissal of the president and CEO (CEO) of the Integrated Health and Social Services Center of the North Shore (CISSS), Manon Asselin, late Wednesday afternoon.

“It is with great emotion that I must announce to you today that our adventure together ends here,” Ms. Asselin told her employees via a press release. “My desire was to continue working alongside you, but unfortunately my mandate is ending earlier than expected and please know that this is not my decision.”

The Council of Ministers took the decision around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

It will be the deputy president and CEO of the CISSS, Nathalie Castilloux, who will take over while waiting for Quebec to appoint a new CEO.

“A change within the governance of the CISSS de la Côte- will make it possible to address the challenges in health and social services in the region, for the benefit of the entire population of the Côte-Nord,” specified the Ministry of Health. Health and Social Services by press release. “In the pursuit of activities, formal support from senior management of the CISSS de la Côte-Nord will be provided by the CIUSSS du Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean and by Santé Québec.”

Hospitals on the North Shore have encountered many problems in recent months, particularly due to lack of staff.

Christian Dubé was also forced to go there to see the state of the situation.

The flying teams, promised by the latter, and which were to provide assistance in the sector, never really took off.

The last time such a dismissal occurred was in 2015.
