Israeli army reports operations against Hezbollah in southwest Lebanon

The Israeli army announced on Tuesday that it had launched operations against Hezbollah in southwest Lebanon the day before, where a fourth division began, according to it, “limited operations”.

She clarified that this division is “the first reserve division to operate in southern Lebanon as part of [de l’offensive] ongoing against Hezbollah.

The army has not revealed the number of soldiers currently operational in Lebanon, but according to the Times of Israel’s military correspondent, the total number of Israeli soldiers engaged in the south of the country is now “probably more than 15,000”.

Israeli ground operations in southern Lebanon began on October 30, with the army describing them as “limited, localized and targeted raids” aimed at dismantling Hezbollah’s infrastructure in the region.

Until then, the Israeli ground offensive was focused on south and southeast Lebanon, but with the deployment of troops from the 146th Division, the army has now expanded its area of ​​operations to southwest Lebanon. country.
