Construction work on the Guersif semi-Olympic indoor swimming pool stopped recently and since the start of work in 2020, the project is known to be slow to complete.
The semi-Olympic swimming pool project was one of the projects that the “Gerséviens” had been waiting for for many years, only to turn into a nightmare after the finalization work was stopped without knowing the real reasons.
Local public opinion in Guersif questions the real reasons for stopping construction work on this semi-Olympic swimming pool, demanding that its work resume as planned.
The youth of Guersif are impatiently awaiting the completion of this important project, which would have played a major role in promoting and supporting access to sports infrastructure, and providing the town of Guersif with a space with national and international specifications for the practice of swimming.
It should be noted that this semi-Olympic indoor swimming pool, the first of its kind in the city of Guercif, started its construction work on Friday September 11, 2020, for a total cost of 12.9 million dirhams, financed by the Ministry. of Youth and Sports, and in partnership with stakeholders from the province of Guercif and the community of Guercif, work to be carried out within 24 months.
