“Other charges will also be filed against these individuals. Several facets of the investigation are still active and other arrests in connection with this attempted murder could possibly take place,” adds the spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec, Hugues Beaulieu.

In the evening of April 15, a man was seriously injured when he was hit by a projectile. A large police deployment followed. The police confirm today that this victim had nothing to do with the armed conflict that has been going on between rival gangs for several months in Saguenay for the control of drug networks.

The five people arrested are all linked to the Blood Family Mafia gang. Here is the list and the charge currently weighing against each individual:

  • Ghislain Grenier 54 years old from Sainte-Béatrix: attempted murder
  • Zachary Gagnon 21 years old at the correctional center: attempted murder
  • Stéphane Hébert 32 years old at the Saint-Jérôme correctional center: attempted murder
  • Kim Warren-Lapointe 26 years old from Rawdon: discharging a firearm
  • Rosalie Bourassa 26 years old from Rawdon: discharge a firearm

Zachary Gagnon and Stéphane Hébert, already detained, were arrested a few days after this attack in Chicoutimi in a raid which led to the incarceration of six individuals in total. A negligent transport leader of firearms and ammunition weighed against each member of the group.
