our city now has its #new fairgrounds (photos) where events will follow one another

Its construction began in September 2022. The official inauguration took place yesterday. This brand new tool replaces the old Halles de Coronmeuse, demolished in 2021. But it is also obviously more ambitious and more modern. Extending over more than 16,500 m², Liège Expo, now located in Bresoux-Droixhe, includes 5 halls (the details of which we have already presented to you) and a multi-purpose room covering an area of more than 16,500 m² with a reception capacity of 10,000 people. It will make it possible to organize various local, regional and international events, including fairs, exhibitions, sporting, cultural and musical events.

Set includes 240 places de parking “exhibitors” (at the rear of the building) and 460 “visitor” spaces opposite the tram P+R parking. With also 120 bike locations (including 40 with secure parking system). We know that buses stop there, which will also be the case for the tram. A large public square is located in front of the entrance to the building. Different events can be organized there.

The new Liège fair hall, Liège Expo, is part of the real estate heritage of IGIL (Intercommunale de Gestion Immobilière Liégeoise), which also includes the Palais des Congrès and the Van der Valk hotel. A new “Welcome in Liège” structure (limited liability company) was however created in June 2023… to manage the Palais des Congrès and the new Halles des Foires. But the management of the latter, the new Liège Expo, was entrusted to the WEX of Marche-en-Famenne which regularly organizes concerts, shows and major events. Objective: to design a strategy that will place Liège and its region on the map of European metropolises, likely to attract events of international scope.

The first is the return of the prestigious Liège Jumping which will take place on October 4, 5 and 6. These free activities will put regional and national riders in competition (with the arrival of the famous stuntman Mario Luraschi who will present his latest show, “The Cinema Horses of Mario Luraschi”, where breathtaking stunts, cinema scenes and dressage are promised).
