Guinea willing to send 650 men to Haiti:
Friday September 28, 2024, as part of the 79th General Assembly of the United Nations, the Guinean Prime Minister, Amadou Oury Bah, in office since February 2024, in his speech from the podium declared that Guinea was predisposed to send a contingent to Haiti 650 police officers and gendarmes, to participate in the efforts of the Multinational Security Support Mission.
Renewal of the mandate of the MMSS:
Monday, September 30, 2024, the United Nations Security Council will decide on the renewal of the one-year mandate of the Multinational Security Support Mission (MMSS), whose first Kenyan contingent was deployed in June 2024. This renewal should enable the international to respect its commitments in order to achieve the objective of 2,500 men on the ground by January 2025.

MCFDF: Preparatory visit:
Friday, September 27, Marie Françoise Suzan Minister of the Status of Women and Women’s Rights (MCFDF), received Ms. Sophie Havyariman, Deputy Representative of UN Women in Haiti, and Pierre Makelele, Deputy Country Representative of the United Nations Fund for population (UNFPA). This was a preparatory meeting for the visit, to Haiti from October 15 to 18, 2024, of two regional directors of UN Women and UNFPA. During their visit, they plan to go to displaced persons camps in the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince, to participate in the international day of women living in rural areas in Kenscoff (October 15) and to meet the Prime Minister as well as women Ministers of Government Conille.
