Around Carole Delga in Bram, social democracy is looking for a path

Many socialist figures, opposed to the leadership of Olivier Faure and the alliance with LFI, met on Saturday in Aude, at the “Rencontres de la gauche” of the president of the region. A first step, notably towards the next party congress in 2025.

It’s a tradition that’s taking hold. Every last weekend of September for four years, Carole Delga has made the Parc des Essarts de Bram her garden. In this pretty little town in Aude, about twenty kilometers from , the president of the Occitanie region is organizing her “Meetings of the Left”. Round tables are organized throughout the day, although the strongest moment is undoubtedly the lunchtime banquet where pots of cassoulet are rotated between the tables. For this 2024 edition, we found all the elite of social democracy with their noses in their plates: François Hollande, Bernard Cazeneuve, Karim Bouamrane, Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol, Valérie Rabault… Raphaël Glucksmann was there too, even if he skipped lunch. Carole Delga enjoys: “We brought together more than 2,200 people. There are a lot of new faces. This left gives hope”.
