Since his arrival in the fashion world at the age of 28, he has continued to innovate. He is volcanic, he is courageous, he is a genuine enthusiast and, if for some, his energy and his projects may seem a little “crazy”, we must remember that Philipp Plein is German, that there is in his DNA the precision, rigor and method specific to the Germanic trait and that, consequently, each of its new adventures always rests on very solid foundations.

Philip Plein

Philipp, in fact, does not believe in luck: “to succeed and be successful, everything must follow a precise organization, must be planned and must have the right execution”, he confides to FashionNetwork.com while, as a perfect host, he takes us to discover The Plein Hotel, his spectacular new Milanese temple of hospitality (3,000 square meters and an investment of 40 million euros), which opened its doors for the first time to a public of insiders on the occasion of the spring-summer 2025 fashion show, after three years of intense work.

Among the marbles, mirrors and crystals of the hotel, the brand’s proposals for next summer paraded: true to its DNA, the collection offers a range of clothing from glamorous evening wear to sophisticated streetwear outfits, incorporating a neutral palette with bolder monogram prints and crystal details. From light looks in shades of white to must-have black, from elegant jackets paired with shorts to formal suits, from miniskirts with bomber jackets and glasses to blazers with microcrystals, from mini to maxi sequin dresses, from pantsuits to outfits in Bon ton tweed with a touch of denim, each garment captures the essence of contemporary luxury, always embracing the brand’s distinctive aesthetic.

“I am very proud to present to the world, during fashion week, not one, but five hospitality and entertainment concepts in the same building: I have studied for a long time a format that was unique, that had few, if any, competitors in the world. I did the same thing when approaching the world of fashion: I wanted to address a niche of people wanting to live always different and different experiences. of the highest level.”

In the historic palace on Via Manin, rich in history (and traditions), which was the headquarters of Krizia, Plein follows the mantra “whatever, whenever” and designs a destination for the most demanding guests that combines comfort, unparalleled privacy, luxury and design under the watchful eye of staff trained in the world’s most exclusive hotels. The materials chosen are all extremely precious (marble, glass, mirrors, crystal, wallpaper), each suite is unique, equipped with a private sauna and gym, and the common areas are rich in art, design and in references to the brand’s identity codes, with hexagons, monograms or even the characteristic skull dear to the brand, used as decorative elements.

The Plein Hotel

Carmine Rotondaro, commercial director of the Plein group, who personally supervised all arrangements relating to the creation of the hotel, explains in detail to FashionNetwork.com the uniqueness of the project, which stands out from other hotel or restaurant openings related to fashion. First of all, the building on Via Manin was privately owned and, thanks to Plein’s initiative, it is now returned to the city and its visitors. “I saw Philipp live practically here for three years and follow every choice, solve every problem, define all the details and transform his ability to create spectacular parades into a consolidated and comprehensive leisure project,” comments the director. “Philipp has established himself as the king of party fashion and this is his royal march.”

The Plein Hotel

Carmine Rotondaro believes he has already seen the interest of investors specializing in hotels and nightlife to export this concept, which is proudly the exclusive creation of Plein and which best represents the soul of the brand, to others carefully chosen destinations around the world. “I am actively negotiating with several players, particularly from the Gulf, who are interested in implementing our concept in these markets,” specifies Carmine Rotondaro.

The entrance to The Plein Hotel

In the new Plein Hotel, which will be fully open to the public by November, four concepts coexist, but are absolutely independent. Plein describes them as true brands aimed at offering precise experiences in terms of “food, drink, nightlife”, all designed according to a model of exclusivity, originality and extreme attention to every detail. At the beginning of the adventure, the German entrepreneur started with the idea of opening a nightclub, but once he found the location, size and structure of the building, he “called” to an expansion of the initial project which has transformed into an urban resort with four different “experiences”, which will be complemented by a Beauty Clinic.

The Jungle of Plein

The Italian restaurant could not be missed: it is called Philipp’s and it is there that the starred chef Roberto Conti reinvents and sublimates natural ingredients, ancient recipes and the traditional taste of the best Italian cuisine into an innovative blend of flavors (like the champagne pizza which took more than a year to develop). The restaurant transforms into a nightclub, with light shows and cutting-edge music (like that of international DJs Sven Väth and Marco Carola). A small, exclusive private space surrounds the DJ booth.

The toilets (we predict a photo here will become trending on Instagram!) are decorated with precious pink mosaics, golden swan-shaped faucets, classical music, screens for watching movies and pink flamingo chairs . Philipp’s Milano will also be an exclusive club – part of an international circuit – dedicated to just one hundred selected members who will benefit from a series of privileges and services with a level of attention currently inaccessible in other clubs.

A daytime bistro and bakery serving only vegan delights, Plein’s La Jungle is an explosion of pink flowers that Plein calls “pink paradise.” The mission of La Jungle de Plein is to show the world that veganism is not subject to constraints and limits, but that it can delight the palate with a thousand proposals.

The Jungle of Plein

Hotel Plein’s best kept secret is its rooftopwhich is home to Crystal Beach, according to the beach club concept. The ambiance is classic and opulent, with white stone and columns, a large swimming pool, lush plants and trees that create shade, and an unexpected garden with an Asian-influenced grill restaurant, including Korean barbecue, and a snack bar. Here too, as in all restaurants, the music harmonizes perfectly with the spirit of the place.

Sukaru Bā, the Japanese restaurant at The Plein Hotel

The Skull Bar, aka Sukaru Bā (the name means skull in Japanese, in accordance with the symbols dear to the brand) is revolutionizing Japanese cuisine. The decor combines traditional Japanese fabrics, golden skulls and dark stones, sushi is served on samurai swords and wrapped in gold, Tamagotchi cocktails are prepared by the best mixologists and a lush palm garden has been created outside . The music, a key detail of Plein’s design, is the result of careful study. At Sukaru Bā’s, the playlist includes refined Japanese electronic music and a selection of “Japanese classics”.

The three monkeys at the entrance to the restaurant bear the words “See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak no Evil” and Plein explains the meaning with a laugh: “what’s happening here… no one will know!”

There is no doubt that a unique destination has arrived in Milan, but “this is only the beginning: stay tuned to developments and expect the unexpected”, concludes the irresistible German entrepreneur.
