Transport in Île-de-: simplification of prices and dematerialization of the Navigo Liberté+ Pass

By 2025, the lives of Parisian public transport users should be greatly simplified

Welcome simplifications and standardization of tariffs

First of all, from January 2, 2025, there will only be two tickets that will replace all the current ones. The objective is, unsurprisingly, to greatly simplify and make more coherent occasional trips without drowning users under zones and possibilities. From now on, regardless of the distance traveled, to take the metro, the RER or the train, a trip will be billed as a single €2.5. For the bus and the tram, this amount will be reduced to €2.

Prices are on average a little lower than the old ones, therefore. On the other hand, if you make a connection, for example between RER and bus, you will have to buy 2 tickets, each valid within its respective types of transport. The controllers may have work to manage users concerning this double pricing.

People who regularly face this connection situation will therefore probably want to switch to the Navigo Liberté+ pass. This allows you to benefit from preferential rates on tickets, not having to take another ticket in the event of connections, and to receive an invoice at the end of the month according to your journeys. If you already have one, there is no need to change it.

A long-requested dematerialization

In a second phase, in spring 2025 without further details, the Navigo Liberté+ pass will be able to be loaded and used directly from an iOS and Android smartphone. Enough to potentially leave the physical Navigo card a little further behind.

Finally, the tickets intended for visitors are also being simplified. Navigo Jour all zones without access to airports is reduced to €12 (instead of €20.60), the single airport ticket at €13 is valid for both airports (Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle and ), departing for the entire Île-de-France region, and Visite at €29.90, including access to airports, completes the trio.
