After the second assassination attempt against Donald Trump a few days ago, his communication strategy is starting to take shape. The candidate does not hesitate to constantly recall these events to attract the sympathy of voters. But could this rhetoric allow him to win the presidential election? “Donald Trump and his team have, it seems, found the right formula. It is no longer the image of the martyr with the famous bandage, but rather a rhetoric. (…) Donald Trump simply implies that he is constantly threatened because he is frightening and because he harms certain interests in the United States or abroad. And we saw that in Flint, where he spoke, this rhetoric works rather well because some people said to themselves: ‘Okay, I’m ready to take a bullet for the candidate’, and others say: ‘He’s exaggerating, but he’s someone courageous who perhaps deserves my vote’. Kamala Harris’ side is trying to find a compromise, or at least a solution, by explaining that there are mainly incoherent statements from Donald Trump. (…)”, our journalist specifies.
And while this campaign is particularly aggressive, the Microsoft company has decided to warn against image manipulation targeting Democratic candidate Kamala Harris.
“The American giant very clearly identifies destabilization operations carried out by Russians against Kamala Harris, in particular with video content manufactured using artificial intelligence, targeting the Democratic candidate since the end of August, beginning of September. Among the examples, a fake video shows, for example, an attack by alleged supporters of Kamala Harris against an isolated person, a supporter of Donald Trump, or another video shows a so-called hit-and-run car accident, which allegedly caused the paralysis of a little girl, in which Kamala Harris is allegedly involved. Microsoft identifies in particular several countries very involved in these attempts at destabilization: Iran, China and Russia. They are trying to influence the election, which complicates things. Even if Microsoft warns everyone by saying to be careful with this content, fake news is definitely there (…).”
