The Republican candidate visited the cemetery on Monday to take part in a ceremony honoring the 13 soldiers killed during the withdrawal of American forces from Afghanistan in 2021.

Arlington National Cemetery, the burial place of American military heroes, reported on Wednesday, August 28, an altercation with Donald Trump’s campaign team during a trip by the Republican candidate earlier this week. The former American went to this cemetery near the capital Washington on Monday to participate in a ceremony honoring the thirteen soldiers killed during the withdrawal of American forces from Afghanistan in 2021. But an altercation took place during this visit between Donald Trump’s team, who were trying to take photos of the event, and the cemetery’s team.

“We can confirm that there was an incident and that a report was made.”said an official at the cemetery, which is the burial place of some 400,000 veterans and their families and two U.S. presidents, including John Fitzgerald Kennedy. The Republican candidate’s entourage, who has repeatedly criticized Democrats over the chaotic U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan in August 2021, responded by sharing a statement in which the soldiers’ families assured that the presence of a photographer had indeed been “validated” by their care.
