Piolle responds to Estrosi after his criticism of insecurity in Grenoble

The mayor of Grenoble announced that he was contacting Arcom after Christian Estrosi shared a truncated quote about him.

An elected official faces accusations. Two days after the death of Lilian Dejean, a 49-year-old cleaning agent shot dead in Grenoble while he was responding to a traffic accident, Éric Piolle, mayor of the Isère city, is the guest of BFMTV and RMC this Tuesday, September 10.

During this interview, the man who has been in office since his election in 2014 responded to the mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, who the day before had described him as “not necessarily safe, authoritarian”, and had criticized the security management of his city. “We saw Mr. Estrosi who tweets faster than his shadow, who talks nonsense”, he begins.

“This is not the first time. You know that after the Paris attacks he accused Anne Hidalgo of doing nothing about insecurity, and boasted that in Nice, it could not happen thanks to his measures,” adds Éric Piolle.

“I leave him to his faults”

And the latter added: “Six months later we were all at his side when Nice was hit by terrorist attacks. He has no modesty, no decency, I leave him to his faults, including in this period of mourning,” he attacks.
