Lucid Air, a new sports sedan that has nothing to envy the competition

ESSAY – Freshly arrived in Europe, this American manufacturer of luxury electric cars is boldly presenting itself as a direct competitor to Tesla and Porsche. With serious arguments under the hood.

Lucid: this name probably means nothing to you. And for good reason: launched on the American market three years ago, its first model, called Air, has only been available in Europe since last year, and for the moment, only in a few countries: Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Norway. France is however on the program, but not in the near future. The Air is indeed an imposing sedan, the size of a Tesla Model S or a Mercedes E-Class. Not the most popular type of model in France.

The large Gravity SUV, promised for next year, should already generate more interest there, but it is probably only with the arrival of a mid-range model, competing with the Tesla Model 3, announced for 2027, that Lucid should become French-compatible. In the meantime, the large Air sedan already gives an idea of ​​the brand’s know-how. It has something surprising coming from a manufacturer that was still unknown until recently.
