Available on PC and PlayStation 5, Game Science’s game creates a terrain that is worth seeing above all for its graphics and its abundance of opponents.

It’s a game with a monkey and a big stick. And it’s the first time that China, which is more focused on mobile and “free-to-play” productions, has entered the field of PC and console blockbusters with global reach. And Black Myth : Wukong was expected. The title from the Game Science studio managed to make itself desired thanks to videos featuring, with a certain sense of bluff, graphics and animations above industry standards. But the long development of the game was also punctuated by sexist statements from the studio on social networks, notably from its co-founder Feng Ji, as revealed by the specialist site IGN in November 2023. A problematic environment that is also found in a letter sent to influencers receiving a copy of the game, prohibiting them from addressing certain subjects in their streams, such as politics or “feminist propaganda.” Sadly predictably, this did not prevent the title from being a hit, no doubt driven by an enthusiastic local market: more than 10 million sales in just a few days.
