Fighting took place on Saturday, August 31, in the north of the occupied West Bank, on the fourth day of a large-scale operation “anti-terrorist” Israeli. In Jenin, the noise of fighting echoes through the deserted streets where only Israeli tanks circulate.

The Israeli army also announced that it had “eliminated” On the night of Friday to Saturday, two Palestinians were preparing to carry out explosive attacks near settlements in the southern West Bank, a territory occupied by Israel since 1967.

According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, at least twenty Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank by the Israeli army since Wednesday, mostly fighters, during operations launched simultaneously in three cities in the north of this occupied territory. The Israeli army claims, for its part, to have killed “twenty terrorists”.

Since Friday, Israeli soldiers have only been patrolling the city of Jenin and its refugee camps, a symbolic bastion of Palestinian armed groups fighting against Israel, after withdrawing from Tubas and Tulkarem, destroying streets and carrying out strikes, particularly air strikes, on vehicles and houses.

The Israeli army launched this operation called “anti-terrorist” by sending columns of armoured vehicles supported by aircraft to Jenin, Tulkarem, Tubas and their refugee camps, raising fears in the international community of an escalation of violence.
