Nominated by the NFP for the post of Prime Minister but quickly dismissed by Emmanuel Macron, Lucie Castets speaks to the foreign press. Speaking to the Guardian, she believes that Emmanuel Macron “feels threatened because he thinks that (the NFP) is going to change everything he has done and it is true that this is our intention”.

“But we are not saying that we will be able to change everything because we will have to find an agreement on each subject and we are fully aware of that,” she added.

“He accuses us of wanting to keep the whole program and only the whole program, but if we are in government, we will present a law – for example to repeal the changes on pensions – and the deputies will vote on it,” she simply explained, adding:

“This is how Parliament works.”

Lucie Castets therefore says she is ready to make “compromises”.
