The Israeli security cabinet gave the green light Friday afternoon to the truce agreement with Hamas providing for an exchange of hostages held in the Gaza Strip for Palestinians imprisoned by Israel, according to an official statement.

“Having examined all political, security and humanitarian aspects of the proposed agreement and considering that it supports the achievement of war objectives”, the security cabinet “recommended to the government to approve this project”, indicates a statement from the Office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, specifying that the council of ministers is to meet “later today”.
