This is a major change that will occur in the coming months for the residents of . From September 2025, throughout the municipality of Val-de-, parking will be fully paid, explains the city in its newspaper. A decision voted “unanimously” during the last municipal council of the year 2024.

Two metro lines will cross Villejuif

With this measure, the city's objective is to adapt to several changes that will occur in the coming months, explains the first deputy mayor, Anne-Gaëlle Leydier. Starting with the very imminent arrival of “two new metro lines”: the 14 from January 18, 2025 with the Villejuif-Gustave Roussy station. This station will also host a stop on line 15 in 2026. This future line of the Grand Express will also stop at Villejuif Louis-Aragon.

By promoting soft mobility, the municipality hopes to “limit the parking effect of daily parking near metro stations, reduce car space for better sharing of public space”, in order to “improve air quality”.

These new rules for “its inhabitants” are not at all “punitive”says Anne-Gaëlle Leydier. She even adds that the Villejuifois are in favor of it: “When it is not regulated, residents talk about illegal parking. » Before being voted on in the municipal council, the measure was the subject of three consultations and a public meeting.
