These activities, which will continue until January 17, with the assistance of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region, the Professional Association for Women’s Entrepreneurship (APPEF) and the Khairat Bladi Foundation Association, aim to highlight the ancestral history of Moroccan Amazigh civilization.

They also aim to shed light on the role of Amazigh culture in achieving sustainable development, particularly through the promotion of crafts and the encouragement of economic initiatives based on cultural values.

On this occasion, the rector of IRCAM, Ahmed Boukous, indicated that the celebration of this event takes on “historical symbolism with political, social, economic and cultural dimensions” which all converge to form the singular Moroccan model on the scale regional, continental and international.

He also stressed, in a statement to MAP, that the program of this year’s celebrations includes a socio-economic component, given that several cooperatives participate in these festivities with the aim of promoting their products.

The celebration of the Amazigh New Year also constitutes an opportunity to reassess the participatory policy of the Institute with several institutions and establishments, led by the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region, he said.

For his part, the first vice-president of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region, Houcine Talmousst, affirmed that this celebration is a tradition that the Chamber ensures to perpetuate each year, thus reflecting the particular interest that the Chamber accords to Amazigh culture as well as its full awareness of the need to promote Moroccan cultural heritage, characterized by its plurality and the diversity of its tributaries.

This event is an opportunity to pay tribute to the bearers of this culture among the members of the Chamber, with regard to their major roles in the influence of Amazigh heritage and in boosting the economy at the regional and national levels, he said. -he observes.

For her part, the president of APPEF, Rachida Bouzit, indicated that the establishment of January 14 as an official paid national holiday reinforces the interest given to Amazigh culture and establishes the desire to support cultural diversity. and the traditions that strengthen the plural Moroccan identity.

The program of this celebration also includes musical and artistic performances by different Amazigh groups, the organization of exhibitions of traditional local products, in addition to a round table led by specialized teachers and researchers in Amazigh culture.
