Arouna Sangante, Le Havre AC defender and captain of his team, has put an end to speculation regarding his international future.
Despite his Guinea-Bissau origins, the 22-year-old young player has confirmed his commitment to the Senegal national team.
In a recent interview, Sangante clearly expressed his choice to represent the Lions of Teranga, stressing that it is a long-held dream for him to defend these colors.
“My choice is Senegal. The most important thing is my desire, and it is Senegal”he declared in comments relayed by Africa Foot United.
The player regretted not being able to honor his first call-up with Senegal against Gabon due to an injury, but he remains determined to return to form for the next competitions, notably the CAN 2025 in Morocco.
-“It was frustrating, because it’s been my dream since I was young to play for Senegal. Even with my little physical problems, I don’t give up”confided the player.
He also welcomed the approach of new coach Pape Thiaw, who met him to discuss his future with the Lions.
“He came with his staff, attended training, and we had a long discussion. It was also an opportunity for me to congratulate him on qualifying for CAN 2025.”explained Sangante.
