Around twenty century-old oak trees from a grove in Septeuil were cut down and stolen to be resold in China. These are associations which carried out their own investigation and notified the police after noting nearly 200 illegal fellings in two years in the commune's massif. The practice is becoming more and more widespread due to the rise in the price of wood. In this specific case, the company behind the thefts was banned from operating for three years. His loot amounts to at least 100,000 euros.
