Placed under the theme “ Research and innovation for a sustainable fishing sector », this event will bring together the major players in the sectors of fishingof the seafood processing and of l’aquacultureof the fisheries researchthus consolidating the essential dimension of this flagship event on the international fishing scene.

At the end of her visit, the Secretary of State underlined that this flagship event included in the calendar of major events will be organized over an area of ​​20,000 m² at Agadir Exhibition Centerit plans to attract more than 50,000 visitors and will accommodate more than 450 exhibitors from more than 50 countries, including 7 new countries, including 4 participating for the first time: South Korea, United Kingdom, India and Sultanate of Oman.

For this seventh edition, the interest of professionals is confirmed, like previous editions: as of January 10, 2025, 97% of the exhibition area has been marketed and all the halls of the Show have extremely satisfactory occupancy rates, confirmed Ms. Driouich.

During her visit to the Exhibition site, the Secretary of State recalled that the sector of sea ​​fishing plays a crucial role in the economy and social development of Morocco, contributing approximately 1.1% of the national GDP. There fish production reached approximately 1.42 MT in 2024 for a value of around 16.2 billion dirhams. Likewise, it drains significant devises through his exports having recorded a turnover of approximately 27.4 billion dirhams in 2024 (according to preliminary data from Morocco Foodex) and generating over 261,000 direct jobs including 113,845 direct jobs at sea in 2023: “Since the holding of its first edition in 2011, the Salon Halieutis has established itself as the unmissable meeting place for maritime fishing professionalsas well as an essential reference for discovering the latest innovations in the sector,” declared Ms. Driouich.

The 2025 edition of the Show will highlight a variety of strategic segments:
