The opening of the General Secretariat of the Government (SGG) to its institutional environment, in particular the university, will contribute to strengthening knowledge of the national legal system, said, Monday in Rabat, the Director General of Legislation and Legal Studies at within the SGG, Bensalem Belkourati.

In an appropriate speech during the visit to the SGG of a delegation of students and professors from the Faculty of Legal, Economic and Social Sciences of Oujda, Mr. Belkourati indicated that this meeting constitutes an opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of laws and legal culture in general in addition to promoting the exchange of ideas with students, called to be the executives of tomorrow.

He also underlined that this visit, which saw the participation of around forty students and professors, allowed the group to familiarize themselves with the missions and functions of the SGG, particularly in relation to the component relating to study of draft legal texts and mechanisms for disseminating legal information.

In the same context, Mr. Belkourati insisted on the central role of legislation in the daily management of state institutions, noting that the presentation, discussion, voting and publication of laws as well as the facilitation of access to these latter, are essential to anchor legal knowledge.

In a statement to the press, the head of the public affairs department at the SGG, Wafa Chafiq, declared that this academic visit aims to present the missions of the SGG and its role in the development and dissemination of laws, while exposing the strategic directions of this institution.

This visit allowed students to learn about the skills of the SGG to better understand the Moroccan legislative process, and also offered the university’s research professors the opportunity to collect a set of information and become familiar with this institution to strengthen their knowledge, indicated the educational coordinator of the master, Abdessamad Abbou.

The visit was marked by the presentation of presentations focusing in particular on “the organization and missions of the General Secretariat of the Government” and “legislation between improvement and execution”.

Likewise, a field visit to the Official Printing Directorate was organized to introduce students to the stages of development and publication of the Official Bulletin.
