The trial of the so-called “Libyan financing” case is due to open this Monday before the Paris Criminal Court. Twelve defendants, including the former head of state – who faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of 375,000 euros for, in particular, corruption and concealment of embezzlement of public funds – and several of his followers are dismissed. The debates are scheduled to last until mid-April, three afternoons per week.
