Arnaud has not had contact for nine months with his 9-year-old twins, kidnapped by their mother in the United States while he had their custody. He has gone on a hunger strike and is sitting in front of the US embassy in Paris.
A sad fight. For 12 days on January 2, Arnaud, father of Juliette and Eva, began a hunger strike. He has set up shop in front of the United States Embassy in Paris and hopes to attract Washington's attention, hoping to find his two daughters kidnapped by their mother.
Nine months ago, this American from Oregon took Eva and Juliette with her for visiting rights. The twins, aged 9, were in Arnaud's custody after a decision by the French courts. “Their mother defrauded the ban on leaving the territory by going through theSpain and the Morocco to then be able to bring them to the United States and since then, I have had almost no news”he told BFMTV yesterday.
“Violation of French judgments”
Since then, Arnaud has multiplied procedures to enforce French law, without any success. Despaired by the inaction of the United States, the father of the two girls began a hunger strike. He also posted messages in English in front of the American embassy. For example, we can read: “the United States helps kidnap French children in violation of French judgments”.
-Having failed to win his case, Arnaud is now relying on the future administration of Donald Trump, who will take office after the transfer of power with Joe Biden on January 20. “To Donald Trump I want to ask him to take this matter head on since the United States was already described in 2015 as being a refuge for kidnappers”he emphasizes, still with BFMTV.
Arnaud plans to extend his hunger strike until he can contact his daughters by videoconference, and until his paternal grandparents have visiting rights.
