In 2024, Morocco and France consolidated their historic relations through an ambitious roadmap, marked by the state visit of President Emmanuel Macron to Morocco, at the invitation of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. This meeting opened a new era of cooperation, with a “reinforced exceptional partnership”, based on a common vision and shared objectives in the face of global challenges.
This visit was crowned by the signing of 22 bilateral agreements and around twenty other partnerships in key sectors such as green energy, infrastructure, innovation, and youth. Economic cooperation has also been strengthened with ambitious projects, positioning Morocco as an essential strategic partner for France in Africa.
One of the highlights of this visit was President Macron's historic speech to the Moroccan Parliament, reaffirming France's clear and unambiguous support for the Moroccan autonomy plan for the Sahara. This position is part of a growing international dynamic in favor of Morocco's sovereignty over this territory.
For experts, this Franco-Moroccan dynamic represents a model of balanced and strategic partnership. Together, the two nations aim to build bridges, promote peace and meet the challenges of sustainable development, making their alliance a major lever for regional and global stability.
