On the night of Saturday December 21 to Sunday December 22, around 10:30 p.m., two people were shot in the head in a recently opened night grocery store in the city center of La Seyne-sur-Mer (Var), learned BFM Toulon Var.
It concerns a 29-year-old man from Marseille and his partner, who together ran this business, the legal manager of which is the father of the former. Both died on the spot. They had just settled in the Var commune. It was a witness, living nearby, who raised the alarm after hearing screams.
Known to police and justice services
The man, born in 1995, was hit in the head by at least three shots. He was known to the police and justice services in Marseille where he had been convicted 10 years ago for drug trafficking.
He had also been indicted, in the Marseille city, for acts of criminal association with a view to preparing a crime and violation of weapons legislation. He was under judicial supervision in this last case.
His wife, born in 1993 in Türkiye, was fatally shot in the head.
An open investigation
At this stage, nothing indicates whether it is one or more shooters, even if it appears that the perpetrator(s) fired several times. The autopsies of the bodies will take place early next week.
The Toulon judicial police (DCOS) and the Var interdepartmental police department (DIPN) are in charge of the investigation.
According to our information, a man was arrested in the city of Beaucaire, in Toulon. In possession of ammunition, he was trying to get rid of clothes. He was taken into custody.
