A few days before Christmas, a 26-year-old woman died in a violent collision with a heavy goods vehicle in Beauce on Wednesday.
The accident occurred around 12:30 p.m. at the corner of routes 112 and 173, in Vallée-Jonction. A heavy vehicle going down the steep slope of Boulevard du Cap would not have been able to slow down sufficiently to make a left turn and would have fallen backwards.

In its fall, the semi-trailer crashed into a car and completely flattened it before overturning. In a split second, a sad conclusion emerged.

If the police initially mentioned that the victim’s life was threatened, the image of the car was unequivocal.
“The driver of the car was seriously injured and was taken to hospital. His life is threatened,” explained spokesperson Béatrice Dorsainville of the SQ. However, the death was confirmed very quickly.

Route 173 has been closed in both directions since the event.
A collision scene investigator will go to the scene to find out what happened.
This steep hill, which has certain restrictions for trucks, is equipped with a stop bed at the edge of the track.
“It’s a tragedy for the family and loved ones,” briefly commented Patricia Drouin, mayor of Vallée-Jonction.
