The arrest of Doro Gaye is not a coincidence. According to authorized sources cited by Libération, investigators traced him thanks to payments made by Clara Gaye with a bank card belonging to Doro Gaye. These transactions, carried out in several luxury boutiques in Paris, made it possible to locate the suspect. One of the payments in particular attracted attention, triggering a series of cross-references which led to his arrest near the famous restaurant Le Fouquet’s, around 7 p.m.
Investigators used credit card records to identify specific locations and times. By following Clara Gaye’s movements, they were not only able to establish a direct link with Doro Gaye, but also defined a surveillance zone which facilitated her arrest.
Facing the magistrate, Doro Gaye, assisted by his Senegalese lawyer Me Seydou Diagne, denounced what he describes as “settling of political scores”. He also mentioned the confiscation of his property and the partial payment of a sum claimed in the context of this case. According to Libération, his arrest stems from an international arrest warrant issued on October 25 by the judge of the third Senegalese cabinet, following a dispute with Zakiloulahi Sow.
