Ten of the 31 tourist accommodation establishments that do not comply with the law ordered to close for one month to two months continue to open their doors, thus trampling on the decision of Farid Chourak, wali of the Marrakech-Safi region and governor of the prefecture of the ocher city.

These riads continue to offer their services in the usual way, thus openly defying the decisions of the Wali of the region. This is the observation made by the security services of the fifth police district, last Friday night, who drew up reports, pending the taking of the necessary measures against the establishments concerned, reports Kech24.

Last week, Farid Chourak, Wali of the Marrakech-Safi region and governor of the Marrakech prefecture, ordered the closure of 31 accommodation units, including hotels and guest houses following control operations carried out by joint commissions comprising representatives of local authorities, the urban municipality and national security, to verify the extent to which establishments comply with the legislative texts governing their activities.

Multiple infractions were noted, including non-compliance with closing times set by law, nuisance caused to local residents, failure to respect public peace, as well as other immoral practices damaging the reputation of the city and having a negative impact on the tourism sector.
