The Supervisory Board of TAQA Morocco also took note of the decision of Mrs. Fatima Bendahbia to assert her right to retirement. Fatima Bendahbia also served as Chief Operating Officer.
Meeting the same day, the Supervisory Board of Jorf Lasfar Energy Company 5&6, a subsidiary of TAQA Morocco, took note of the resignation of Omar Alaoui M’hamdi and Fatima Bendahbia from their mandate as Members of the Management Board of the subsidiary.
TAQA Morocco and Jorf Lasfar Energy Company 5&6 warmly thank Mr. Omar Alaoui M’hamdi for his commitment and contribution to the development of TAQA Morocco over the last twenty years, during which he participated in the main industrial projects and financial operations which have shaped the success of the company. The Supervisory Boards also paid tribute to the contribution of Mrs. Fatima Bendahbia in the different phases of the company’s transformation and highlighted her technical expertise in consolidating the operational performance of the Jorf Lasfar thermal power plant.
The Supervisory Board of TAQA Morocco has decided to appoint:
– Mehdi Belghiti, as Member of the Management Board; And
– Zakaria Fafouri, as Member of the Management Board.
The Supervisory Board of Jorf Lasfar Energy Company 5&6 has also decided to appoint:
– Zakaria Fafouri, as Member of the Management Board; And
– Hicham Chad, as Member of the Management Board.
Mehdi Belghiti began his career in 2002 within the investment bank CFG Group. In 2004, he joined the COMANAV Group as General Secretary before being appointed, after the privatization of the company by CMA CGM, Deputy General Manager. In 2008, he joined the ADDOHA Group as Deputy General Manager in charge of Finance and Resources. In October 2012, he joined TAQA Morocco as Director of the Support Pole then became a Member of the Management Board of Jorf Lasfar Energy Company 5&6 in 2015 and Director of the Business Support and Transformation Pole in 2022. Mr. Mehdi Belghiti is a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique de Lausanne.
Zakaria Fafouri has more than 28 years of professional experience in the field of auditing, consulting and finance. He began his career in 1996 at PwC, where he spent around fifteen years supervising audit and consulting missions in Morocco and internationally as an Associate Partner. Mr. Fafouri then joined the TAQA Morocco Group in 2012 as Financial Director, where he developed expertise in large-scale financial operations on the Moroccan market. Mr. Zakaria Fafouri holds the French National Diploma in Accounting.
Hicham Chad holds the position of Director of Business Development at TAQA Morocco. He began his career in 2006 at the Ernst & Young firm where he led several audit and consulting missions. He joined the TAQA Morocco Group in 2012 as Financial Director of Jorf Lasfar Energy Company 5&6, then Director of Business Development and financial structuring, where he developed expertise in leading growth and transformation projects. He has significant experience in the low carbon, infrastructure and renewable energy sector. Mr. Hicham Chad is a graduate of the normal cycle of the Higher Institute of Commerce and Business Administration (ISCAE), he holds the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) and he is also a chartered accountant with the French National Diploma of Expertise An accountant.
The Supervisory Board congratulated the new members appointed to the Management Boards of TAQA Morocco and Jorf Lasfar Energy Company 5&6, and wished them every success in leading the company’s development projects.
