The “E. NOV Artisanat” Hackathon: Three award-winning digital solutions to boost local crafts in Essaouira

The first edition of the Hackathon “E. NOV Craftsmanship” ended on Saturday in Essaouira with the distinction of three innovative projects aimed at digitalizing and promoting local crafts. Organized by the Technopark of Essaouira in partnership with the Provincial Directorate of Crafts, this event brought together young developers and entrepreneurs who proposed concrete digital solutions to respond to the challenges of the sector.

The first prize was won by Siham Fajjaj for a mobile application dedicated to the marketing of rural women’s handicraft products. The second prize went to Khadija Zougar for an optimized management tool for artisans’ stocks and raw materials, while Mouad Tanami won third place with a digital platform facilitating the personalized online sale of artisanal products. These projects demonstrate the commitment of young talents to modernize craftsmanship while preserving its authenticity.

Lamiae Benmakhlouf, General Director of Technopark Morocco, highlighted the central role of digital in local economic transformation: “These innovative solutions are essential to strengthen the competitiveness of the artisanal sector and ensure better visibility for ‘Made in Essaouira’ products on national and international markets.” With practical workshops and an intensive coaching program, this hackathon marked an important step for the integration of digital technology into crafts, thus promoting sustainable development and the creation of qualified jobs in the region.
