The Jonathan Harroch affair, owner of the City Club group, takes an unexpected turn. The number of plaintiffs in this already complex case has increased considerably. While the investigating judge of the Casablanca Court of Appeal was to hear two young women arrested in the company of the businessman in a hotel, the number of alleged victims has now risen to six.
The Attorney General at the Casablanca Court of Appeal has in fact added new complainants to the file, which could further complicate the situation of the accused. According to judicial sources who spoke to Hespressthe deputy prosecutor asked the investigating judge to hear three new women, after they had been questioned by the National Brigade of the Judicial Police, a step which led to a new request for investigation.
This development is a twist of theater which took the accused by surprise, whose detailed investigation was already underway. Faced with the seriousness of the situation, the investigating judge decided to postpone the hearing until December 16, in order to allow a full investigation and to hear the new complainants.
During the previous investigation session, the businessman was confronted with testimonies from the complainants, some of whom accused him of sexual harassment. The testimonies also revealed serious dysfunctions within the sports clubs he owns, including delays in the payment of monthly compensation due to his employees, as well as inappropriate behavior on his part. One of the complainants even explicitly denounced acts of sexual harassment.
Currently in pre-trial detention at Oukacha prison in Casablanca, Jonathan Harroch firmly maintains his innocence. He completely denies all the accusations, claiming to have no connection with the complainants and mentions a simple “ settling of accounts » behind this affair.
As a reminder, the businessman was arrested after several search warrants were issued against him for issuing bad checks amounting to several million dirhams. During his arrest, the police found 2.5 grams of cocaine on him, and he was accompanied by two young women in a hotel room. This arrest, already sensational, added another chapter to a case that appears far from over.
