In an interview with Médias24, the Minister of Tourism reviewed the progress of projects to finance entertainment structures, ecotourism lodges, unusual accommodation initiatives and sporting activities, including the viability and the adequacy with the specific needs of each region were recently submitted for evaluation by a public-private committee.

Médias24: How many tourism businesses have benefited from the Go Siyaha system in 10 months?

Fatima-Zahra Ammor: Since the launch of this support program in February 2024, we have received more than 1,300 requestsof which 500 files were accepted in the three solutions of Go Siyahanamely support for investment, technical assistance and green growth.

– Will we be able to meet the needs of the 1,700 companies targeted by the program?

– We are on track to exceed our objectives knowing that, since its launch, this program has attracted approximately 400 requests for investment, 700 for technical assistance and 200 for sustainable development.

Targeted mechanisms are in place to guarantee rapid and efficient execution, aligned with our ambitions and those of the project leaders.

– What is the geographical distribution of Go Siyaha?

– This program targets all regions of the Kingdom, without imposed quotas, allowing fair and inclusive participation. National enthusiasm is already reflected in approved concrete projects.

As an example, we can cite an ecotourism complex in Berkanea tourist complex in Azemmoura campsite Laayouneor even a nautical base at Tetouan driven by Moroccan entrepreneurs residing abroad.

– What about the nature of the projects selected?

– Of the 500 approved projects, 90% concern technical assistance, advantaged for rapid execution cycles which mainly concern hosting, digital transformation, operational excellence and energy audit.

As for investment projects, which involve longer application preparation cycles (4 to 6 months), we believe that applications submitted in 2024 will be contractualized in 2025.

– How are the amounts granted broken down?

– So far, for technical assistance, 40 million DH were allocated in bonuses, which should generate more than MAD 45 million in induced investments.

Regarding the investment component focused on animation and green growth, 58 MDH were awarded as bonuses, mobilizing around 180 MDH in generated value.

– Is it true that the 720 MDH allocated have already been fully distributed?

– On the 720 MDH scheduled over three years, around 100 million dirhams have been committed.

Funds are mobilized gradually, according to cash flow needs, with bonuses paid in installments and based on the concrete progress of investment projects.

– Could this program be completed before 2026?

– Certainly not, because the program is based on precise objectives and annual budgetary allocations.

Thus, the 2024 edition will soon come to an end, before the launch of new calls for projects in 2025.

Thus certain projects, particularly those linked to investment, could even extend beyond 2026 due to the execution times inherent to these initiatives.

– Will the Go Siyaha and Cap Hospitality programs be renewed when budgetary allocations are exhausted?

– The Cap Hospitality system should end in December 2025, or before if the budget is exhausted, while Go Siyaha is a roadmap program which is supposed to end in December 2026.

For the following years, we should have the new charter for SMEs which will be ready from 2025 for all sectors, but we are still keeping Go Siyaha in parallel until 2026.
