For the first time since the revelations concerning Sean Combsalias P. Diddy, another celebrity is named in this vast affair of sexual violence: Shawn Carterbetter known as Jay-Z. The rape was allegedly committed during a party organized after the MTV Video Music Awards ceremony in 2000, in New York. According to the complaint, consulted by NBC, the victim (referred to by the name Jane Doe) attempted to access the evening and enter an afterparty, without prior invitation, by inquiring with the valets positioned near the event. “A driver allegedly told her that he worked for Combs and that she “matched what Diddy was looking for,” details the television channel. He allegedly invited her to a party after the show and told her to come back to his car later that evening, after transporting Carter and Combs. »
A third celebrity witness
A few minutes later, after having received the young girl, the driver allegedly dropped her off in front of a house which she was only able to enter after having signed a document “which she believed to be a confidentiality agreement” and which she would never have “received a copy”. Inside, an audience of celebrities consuming alcohol, cannabis and cocaine. After taking a few sips of a drink that had just been served to her, the young girl felt “dizzy”. Jay-Z then allegedly undressed the young girl by force, before holding her to the ground and raping her in front of P. Diddy and an unnamed “female celebrity”. Diddy then allegedly raped her, before attempting to perform oral sex on her. The complainant allegedly hit her attacker in the neck until he stopped, allowing her to retrieve her clothes and leave the scene. The nightmarish night reportedly ended when she drove to a nearby gas station, where she was able to call her father. “Another celebrity stood by and watched Combs and Carter take turns assaulting a minor,” the complaint details. Many other people were present at the party, but did nothing to stop the attack. Carter was at Combs’ side during many of the incidents described herein. Both perpetrators must be brought to justice. »
A “terrible error of judgment” according to Jay-Z
The plaintiff is seeking unspecified damages. She “still suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder and depression following the alleged rapes”, specifies the BBC. Shawn Carter was quick to react with a virulent press release published via his record company, the powerful Roc Nation label: “My lawyer received an attempted blackmail, called a letter of formal notice, from a “ lawyer” appointed Tony Buzbee.
