Following the qualification of RSC Anderlecht for the quarter-finals of the Belgian Cup, the draw for the table was carried out. Mats Rits took care of it, and he spared his team!
This Thursday, there was only one Belgian Cup round of 16 left on the program: Anderlecht-Westerlo. Following the easy qualification of Mauve & Blanc for the quarters, the draw for the next round could therefore be made.
It was therefore Mats Rits who came in front of the RTL Sport cameras to carry out the draw at the edge of the Lotto Park pitch. And he didn’t have a heavy hand for his Sporting: RSC Anderlecht inherited the bottom of the Pro League, Beerschot, where they will therefore move to the quarter-finals.
Rits’ former club, FC Bruges, will host Oud-Heverlee Leuven. A Limburg derby will also be on the program at Stayen between STVV and KRC Genk. But the shock of these quarters will be a “revenge” of the previous final: Antwerp will indeed host Union Saint-Gilloise, not spared!
The quarter-finals will be held on January 7, 8 and 9.
Club de Bruges – OHL
STVV – Racing Genk
Beerschot – RSC Anderlecht
Antwerp – Union Saint-Gilloise
